Throw out bearing install
Getting ready to pop the clutch back in but have a question regarding the competition clutch . Does anyone have pics on the throw out bearing install. It doesn't seem like this one needs to be pressed through and that goes against everything that I have been reading. Thanks in advance.
Chef,
There is no need to press the throw out bearing. It slides between the pressure plate fingers. You slide it in from the flywheel side through the PP diaphragm and leave it there while you bolt the PP to the flywheel.
Tighten the PP a little bit at a time in "criss-cross" pattern and once you have all the bolts in place (before they are tight) put in your alignment tool.
On the other hand, if you are talking about the pilot bearing, that one is pressed into the flywheel.

Pilot bearing was in good shape as was the flywheel so I am leaving those alone. I will grease them up. Thanks for the input on the TOB. Should I put some loctite on the PP bolts aswell??
