Default Installing Header.

which is the proper way to take off the header?
Yesterday, I took my header out and I was having difficulty taking it off(compare to b-series). it took me freaken 6 hours(taking the motor mount, lower strut bar, heat shields and valve cover).. basically, i end up w/ lot of mess....

my question is.... which is the correct way to taking out the header? from the bottom of the car(taking the motor mount and heat shield) or above the hood(taking out the every heat shield on the header and valve cover).

I took mine out the bottom, removing the heatshields only including the battery shield. The opening is big enough to twist it through.

Btw, I had the rick's xbrace, and comptech midbrace on also.

If I remember correctly I pulled my header out from the bottom and went back in form the bottom. There is a write up in the FAQ's. I think the only thing that has to be removed is the heatshield....Oh yeah, make sure you get the car jacked up as high as you can. It makes things a whole lot easier.

I have a write-up on my Toda header install that had a few points about the OEM header coming out. It's in the FAQs at the top of UTH.
If I recall correctly, I removed the battery heatshield, the OEM header heatshields. Once the header was detached, it came out the top. Didn't touch the motor mount or the valve cover. It was tight and I had to protect the valve cover with a cloth, but it came out.

If you can jack the front of the car high enough, once you remove the two header heat sheilds and the exhaust manifold bolts the thing will drop right out
