Default Installing K&N Air Intake

I am about to try to install the K&N air intake on my baby. I have almost no auto mechanic experience other than an oil change.
Is this well within amateur limitations or should I seek help?

Or is it a good intro for a bum like me?

if you know how to use a basic set of tools, you'll be fine...its not difficult at all

edit: and thats how you learn how to start doing things, just take your time and follow the directions...working on cars is pretty simple once you learn the basics of how things work...dont let it intimidate you...working on your own car can be one of the most satisfying things you can do

I found the hardest part was disconnecting the hoses. Other than that, it's not too bad. This was one of the first things I did as well.

Use some pliars with inner jaws (have a step, teeth to grip hose but won't crush or cut hose). Grab it and twist the hose on the fitting to break it loose. You should be able to pull it off easily after that.

tried, can't do it.

The hard hose is attached to another, making it immoveable.

I am also putting "teeth marks" on the hard pipe and I don't like that.

^ yes...

and ill tell you, ive installed 15 different intakes in my life and this one was the biggest bitch. so many little stuck hoses cuz my car is old. just ram a flat head screw driver between the rubber and the nub and yank. dont be gentle! lots of little nuts and bolts to assemble too. just make sure u have the time and be patient.

i have done intakes on other cars (not on the s2000) and i can say if you change your own oil, you can put on a new intake.

Fwiw, I've used a pick to pull the hoses apart from the hard points on the engine - stick it between the hose and the hard point and work around to break the seal on them, then use some pliers to gently tug the hoses off. They get sticky after they've been on for a while.

Getting hoses off is hard, getting the mounting bracket on is hard too, the rest is easy.
