I've read before on here that the bypass valve takes away some performance but not sure how much. But the CT and AEM are very different types of intakes that bring cold air into the engine. If you do a search I believe you will find many topics on this already... Is this a mod your looking into?

i have been lookin into it for a while, just hate the whole hydrolock. so if i was gion to get the aem i would put a bypass valve, but on the other hand if i spend more money on the comptech and have more hp and not have to worry about hydrolock thats what i would do.
no one has dynos of an v1 aem with a bypass valve ( stock , meaning only the cai ) and then comptech

These intakes aren't going to gain you more than a handfull HP. Primary benefit is avoding heatsoak at slow speed or stops.

Get the one you lke the best

Comptech! If your comparing it with the AEM V1 CAI w/ BPV. When i had the bpv installed, i noticed a noticable drop in power, and sound aswell- almost like stock.

I'd go with the AEM V2, someone is selling one for 150 right now.
