Default Intercooler or aftercooler for SC?

This is some questions that I haven't seen answered. At least I couldn't find any. With pressure drop being equal at 1.2psi what would cool the air into the system better? If there is a link to another post that I couldn't find in the search let me know but I think this one is important. Thanks in advance.

Then you haven't looked. It's been argued over ad infinitum with no definitive conclusion.

Such low boost i wouldnt bother with a large intercooler.....possibly just the aftercooler with waterinjection if it aint enough.

At first I am looking to only run 7-8 pounds boost. Later I will up the boost with a build to about 10-12. I can do an intercooler for less than the aftercooler. That is why I am curious if one really tests out better than the other or if people just think the water cools better overall. I went through about four pages of search and came close.

I would say that at 7-8lbs the AW would be better because it has enough cooling capacity and a shorter path. At 10-12 you might be reaching the point where the extra cooling capacity is required and the extra pressure makes up for the longer path.

So I would say that if you are definitely commited to 10-12lbs go with the air-air but don't expect your set up to be optimal until you get to those pressure levels.

I will keep that in mind. It is kinda what I thougth. There will be a hgiher pressure drop with the longer airflow path until higher levels are achieved to even things out.
