Default Intermittent EPS issue

Hi guys,

I have 05 AP2 with about 151K km on the clock.
EPS light comes on and loss of assist as well, whenever I steer at low speed, like at a parking lot. Restarting the car brings the EPS back on. But unless I drive off without turning, the eps light comes on again.
I did try to reset the EPS by short circuiting the OBD and doing the reset procedure, but same thing happens.
Also, I'm not sure if this is another fault, but the EPS light stays on at ignition-on position.
I've seen some threads with same symptoms, but they seem to be saying that the only solution is to replace the eps rack... does anyone have suggestions on what to do?

Thanks!!

Have you tried to regrease the torque sensor? If you do, you just got to make sure it's fully clean of that purple stuff before you put it back on.

i had that exact same problem. EPS light randomly come on at low speeds and i would lose power steering. Restart the car and it is fine until it happened again like a month or two later.

I replaced the EPS module and my problem went away.
