isopropyl
Regarding point 3 - I did the math using the above 12oz per 10 gallons recommendation - adding in that amount of isopropyl alcohol would raise the alcohol level to 10.09%. Yes, nine hundreths of a percent. Not enough to make a difference in any way IMO (cost, performance, mileage, a/f ratio, etc.) except for taking some time out of MIAMI S-2000's day, but it's his choice. <shrug>

I would definitely be cautious as I have already begun to see very poor running engines and failing fuel pumps from the use of fuel containing near 10% ethanol. And yes there is a simple way to test for alcohol content in fuel since it is hydrophilic.
Well the problem is that you can't find fuel without ethanol in it almost at all and the fuel really shouldn't contain a full 10% but UP TO 10%. And we have actually been testing fuel out of customers cars and finding about 12 to 15% alcohol........Scary huh?
Here is a good link.....
I suggest every one read.....Maybe even twice for some...

Ooh and by the way alcohol-gas blends have a lower efficiency.
Enjoy
