Default I've found heaven!

I've finally found a site that's worth coming back to. This site/forum is the best. Got my s2k in Nov'00 and coming up on my 3600 miles. Should I go ahead and change the oil or wait a while longer to 6000 miles for the proper break in period?

I'll proably switch to Mobil 1 at around 10,000 to make sure everything is seated correctly. Only thing is, I don't know which to use. I asked the service manager at my dealership and he said to use 5w30. I've read some threads here stating to use 10w30. I've also checked on Mobil 1's site and it seems that high reving engines should use 15w50.

I'm really confused and need some feedback. Any comments is much appreciated. Thanks a bunch in advance.

I think in VA you're supposed to use 5w30, you should get your oil changed to a non synthetic sometime soon.

The initial service recommendation is 3,750 for hard use and 7,500 miles for normal use. Do not change to synthetic until 5,000 miles minimum which is when the oil "skirt" seals should have seated. As for weight.....ask your dealer to see an owners manual or look in yours. I think Honda engineering knows what is needed.
