Default Jacking and Jack Stand

What does everyone think of 2 jack stands or 4? Ideally the car should be level when changing oil or other fluids, but I'm a little worried about stability with the car on 4 jack stands. I have an AC Hydraulics floor jack (DK13HLQ) and their jack stands (3000NFP).

So 2 stands or four and when? Thanks.

I use two when I change the oil on the Insight, but then the drain plug is facing to the rear of the car. With the S, the car is level since the drain plug is on the side of the pan.

So do you put the jack stands on the side jack points or on the frame? How stable is that? I just picked up my car in Dec, so I haven't had to get under there yet. I just want to make sure I do it safe and without damaging the car. Thanks.

On both pass. and driver side behind the front wheels you will see the re-enforced areas. I would do jack stands or I would get rhino ramps! I have a set that is for lowered cars, I love them. I still use a piece of foot and a half long 2x4 to get the car on them, but its much easier then normal ramps!

I find it very difficult to balance my car on 2 jackstands, so I use 4 .

Seriously - when changing fluids I make sure that the car is level. That requires either 4 jackstands or 2 ramps and 2 jackstands.

Thanks for the picture. For my Civic, I've always done two, but very different car. I've ordered two more jack stands and will give it a try.

Thanks.

I use the low profile rhino ramps, get em for like 60 bucks, and when I need the car to be level i had a couple jack stands.
