Meet up with some other s2k owners and see if their transmissions feel any better. The s2k tranny can feel clunky & notchy to folks used to indirect linkage gear shifts common in FWD cars.

it's different from car to car, miata people loves the Redline mtf, which i use in my miata with very good result.

after using the redline in my s, i knew it wasn't right granted the SAE weight is very similar.

try the OEM version2 mtf or GMSMFM

I've always noticed that with a fresh fluid change, the tranny was a bit notchy. It seems to smooth out after a couple hundred miles. Then starts to get notchy again after 8k miles or so. Just from my experience.

Did you try clutch TSB 02-046? After cleaning/lubing the mecha, it feels much smoother.
