Default K&N Filter

Sorry to make another thread when I am sure there are 50 like it out there, but the search came up with no results for some reason. I am wondering if changing to a K&N filter gives any HP as compared to the stock. It doesnt seem like the aftermarket CAI's give much HP, so I really dont want to go that route (I plan to go turbo before long anyways) So anyone running just an aftermarket filter please give me some feedback. Thank You!

Since the stock factory filter is $50 as well, I got the KN instead. There is no performance difference. Just a tiny bit louder. Get the intake extension along with the KN, the difference should be noticeable.

I would think that if it's a hair louder, it would be because of a little better flow. I think I'll give it a shot. Do you hear VTEC kick in with it?

I had the JR filter very early in the car's life. The JR is quite similar to the K&N. I heard very little difference in sound. The only discernable change was "perhaps" a bit better throttle response. If you want noticeable "feel" and sound, you'll need to go with a CAI.
