I cut the rubber stuff into straight slits. No way can you bend them around the edges.
I bent mine around the edges.. it just takes a lot of agression.

It's easiest to cut them a little to bend them but I was bored and pissed off when I installed mine soooo..

interested in seeing more k&n fipk dyno's.

i saw one person post a 4 hp increase at peak.

definitely didn't have the 9 hp jump at vtec that k&n posted...

i figure if k&n can replicate a "fluke" type dyno with the most hp gains, that would be the one they would advertise...

do you have to drill a hole for you AIT sensor in both 57 and 63 models?

What is the difference between the two?

One is CARB legal, one is not. Only 06+ do you "have" to drill the hole, but there are ways around that. Personally, I just drilled a hole.

i wonder what makes on carb legal and the other not.

they are exactly the same thing.

i ordered the fipk and the air charger...i needed two fipk's, but they accidentally gave me one of each kind.

in a side by side comparison, they were both exactly the same parts and same installation parts...everything is the same same same same same....same same same.

I didn't drill any hole at all... just usedt he existing one and it worked perfectly. I had to carve out some of the plastic from the inside of the hole but it wasn't a big deal. Then I just used the rubber cap (that is supplied in the kit to cover up the "extra" hole if you did decide to drill a new hole), slit a hole at the bottom of it and used it give the sensor in the hole a better seal.

For who's asking about getting one... trust me... you WILL NOT be disappointed at all. With my TP and 63mm exhaust, the intake made a very noticeable difference in power delivery, especially in VTEC.

They release the non CARB version first, to get it on the market, then the CARB version later for those that need the CARB version (california residents). The CARB version is more expensive because of the cost of certification.

Andre: I know it's not required, hence the quotes I do wonder if it'll see the same air temp being out of the stream though, but I'm not curious enough to test it.
