Default Knock sensor

Ok,

Doing a clutch job.

Will I be able to get a code if the car is not turned on, but the key is put into the "on" position?

Basically if it's broken it's much easier to get to now than it will be once everything is bolted back up.

Also...

2. Replacing the metal clutch line (it's stuck to the CMC) I have searched for a diy but couldnt find anything.

Any tips or suggestions?

THanks,

It should throw a code of the sensor is not functioning. But I'm not 100% sure on this.

I pretty sure you wont get any codes unless the car is running. Theres no way the computer can know if its functioning properly if its not being used. I dont know where the knock sensor is at on these cars. But if its hard to get to, and you are worried its going to be bad, just replace it, and then you dont need to worry..

It will read that the circuit is broken (same as if you unplugged it)

With the circuit not complete CEL comes on. Hook up the battery and turn the key it will light up.

you dont need a scanner or check engine light to check an open circuit

P0325 (knock sensor) is a fast code. Just turning the key on should set the CEL on if the knock circuit is open.
