I agree, the symptoms sound vtec related, which is why I brought up cold engagement. There are two parts to the vtec system that make it work, the pressure switch and the solenoid. Both have a separate cel number association, and will eventually get triggered, if it becomes a chronic issue. If its still very intermittent, and misdiagnosed with re setting the ecu along the way, it may be some time yet before you actually get a cel for confirmation. This is a theory based on very limited information form OP coupled with my experience on troublshooting.

I agree that checking the screen in the vtec unit as mentioned would be a worthy task to eliminate a possible physical obstruction to oil flow, creating this intermittent issue.

First mistake you made and keeping making: letting the dealer diagnose/work on it. Spark plugs aren't your issue here; as stated, this is definitely in the VTEC system or a supporting component (and in a very unlikely scenario, the ECU failing).

Sounds like the map sensor or vtec solenoid.

Map sensor can make vtec cut in and out through the revs. It is also sporadic and may only effect things 1 out of 20 pulls. Map wack is a common thing around here. Just tap the sensor with the handle of a screwdriver. Make sure connections are tight and clean.

Other issue could be with the vtec solenoid. Personally i had a wire going to the vtec solenoid break right at the connector. Before it fully broke i would get random vtec malfunction codes and occasionally be locked out of vtec.

FYI, your dealer is ripping you off.

Did the car throw a CEL?

Hey guys another update alot has happened since original post. The sparks and coils didnt fix anything. The car stil chokes. I need to also point out a mistake i made in the OP. The car never makes it to vtec instead it cuts out at 4500 revs doesnt matter what gear or speed. Almost every time. Sorry for the confusion. Ive been reading and it looks like it could be a map whack fix. Any other ideas?
