does this mean that when using it at OEM height (on high perch) it will be similar to the oem shock in terms of ride quality? i always thought the konis were an upgrade from oem.

 

To re-iterate:

So long as you use the upper perch it will act like a OEM shock as far as ride height goes.

The perch only effects ride height.

 

So it will be a stiffer ride?

 

It can be...Konis are adjustable for rebound (compression is pretty soft in my opinion).

Compression is very soft, compared to OEM shocks.
When I had my OEM shocks out and felt how hard they were to compress I got worried that I would end up with a soft ride with the Koni's.
Because I could compress the Koni's very easily and the (old) OEM's were almost impossible to compress (I had to put all my weight on it)
IMO it turned out to be ok for me
Lets not forget : Koni = High Quality Dutch Product

With the adjustable rebound I could create a harder / firmer / bumpier ride then with OEM's (still using OEM springs)
I guess compression has less effect then rebound.
