Default Left rear makes a schreeching sound

So just a little while ago a strange noise started occuring on my s2k. The left rear is making this kind of grinding screaching noise going down the road. Any ideas?

Need more info but a couple of iniitial ideas:

1. Wheel bearing - do you know how to check them? Jack all 4 up and pull on the left rear by hand - if there is ANY play it is almost certainly the wheel bearing letting go and it will start to get really noisy if you let it go. ask me how I know.

2. After a good drive, hover your hand over the center of the wheel in question, is it HOT? more hot than the other side? Inspect the rotor and caliper guides to see if they are seizing up and dragin on the rotor. If this is the case it will eventualy cook the bearing if you let it go. " "
