It is in fact a 7440, lasercat lists it as a 7440 and I just pulled a bulb out from my vehicle to check and verified it is a 7440

in the picture I have stop light highlighted but as you can see the front turn signal has the same listing

Ok guys you are all confusing me here.

I have a 2002 S2000.

I put the 7440 bulb in and the issue I am having still exists.

Is it a 7443 dual filiment bulb or a 7440 single filiment bulb for a 2002 model?

I dont really wanna pull my other sides fender liner to check which bulb is in the driver since the driver side is functioning properly but im starting to think that's gonna be my only option at this point.

And now you guys are saying it's a different 168 bulb? Where the heck is that bulb located?

On this very forum a user says it's a single 7443 bulb

(No mention of a 168 bulb)

Ok guys figured I'd solve this on my own.

There ARE 2 separate bulbs.

The driver side that works appears to use a tiny "168" bulb. No dual filiment. 7440 is accurate for the turn signal bulb.

you may want to look into getting a connector as well, if you look at the grey plastic in the picture youll notice the discoloration from excessive heat. that can not only cause the bulb to prematurely fail but also cause other electrical issues down the road (blown fuses, etc)

I imagine that is just due to the age and mileage of the vehicle over the years of the light being on. How much is a new connector?

An FYI: 7443 (dual filament) can be used in any 7440 (single filament) socket. While the bulb number is not identical, it work identically. The dimmer circuit is just unused.
