Lighter S000
Ciao a tutti
I want to know if someone knows the useless parts of the S2K.
For example the spare wheel (is useless)and removing it is possible can be earned some kilogram (the weight of the spare wheel),The krik (what it is used in order to mount the wheel) this parts are useless and is possible to remove .
Someone knows another useless parts of s2000 that is possible to remove?
Thanks to alllllllllllllllllllllll!!!!!!

Re: cruise control, Sideways was wondering how I could be travelling to Rosamond up and down hills at the same rate of speed not caring that it was a rather modest speed. I blamed it on cruise control, which I did use.

Typically some sort of feedback controlled electrical or vacuum controlled mechanism that alters throttle opening to keep vehicle speed at some user set constant...opens throttle for up hill, closes it on down hill...without pushing the pedal.
Do Euro versions have Cruise Control?

I think Luis stripped the S2000 a fair amount, added a roll cage and didn't save that much weight? Spoon S2000 likewise may not have been significantly lighter than one might have thought as well. Just trying to remember what I have read.

How much weight can be saved by taking the cruise control parts out?
The air conditioner is another popular item to remove for a race car, but I don't consider it useless... How much weight is there?
There's a bloke in England (Gareth?) who completely stripped and rebuilt an S2000 as a race car; I believe he saved a lot of weight (carpet, insulation, paint!, replaced seats, body panels, wheels?, etc.)
There have been a few threads on this over the years.

Weight savings around the cruise control is very minimal -- probably 5lbs or so. But for 'hardcore' folks, every ounce counts right?
A/C on the other hand is quite significant -- approx 60lbs! But the work is also a lot more involved, and I think A/C is something every car needs!
A very reputable tuner out here in Vancouver who works with Hondas exclusively has mentioned that for Hondas, there's a 'rough' relationship that says for every 11lbs you shed off the car, it translates into 1 HP to the wheels -- have you guys heard anything of this sort?
