Are you sure? The last power regulator assembly I pulled out of a car door (albeit an Isuzu) weighed about 10-15lbs, compared to about a 3-5lb manual one (I converted from manual to power).

Haven't had a Honda one out, might be lighter. Motors are not usually light, though. It's still more weight, too- cruise and the trunk lining don't weigh much, but add them all together...

Yes, the Civic, that was later stolen that was very quick around Streets of Willow, was definitely stripped of interior lining, etc. to save weight.

Here is a little info that I found over the years. I have drag raced Fords for the past 10 years. Please do not hold that against me, as I have finally seen the "Honda" light.
Every 100 pounds in weight reduction equals .10 reduction in 1/4 mile times. (everything else equal of course). Also, every 25 pounds of rotational weight loss equals .10 reduction in 1/4 times (ie. wheels, flywheels, etc.).
Anyway, just a little food for thought.

I was just gonna say what chap did. 100 pounds is a tenth of a second. Hardly worth it for even the draggers amongst us. But if you have a trailer baby s2k (which I'd be interested in seeing!) strip away for that extra .2 or .3 a second.

How about a diet? Not for your car, but for you!

Great question -- that's what I was thinking...when we start pulling out the spare tire and tool kit from the trunk, we are altering the weight distribution in the car....I wonder if it's enought to actually affect the car's personality though....

I am at work and can't get to my car, but....isn't the spare tire between the front and rear axles? If it is located between the axles, it isn't going to change the weight distribution. Also, since the car weights 2750lbs, it would take a 55lb change to get from 50/50 to 51/49.
