Default Lightest oil for autox

I was wondering what the lightest grade oil I could safely use on a nice warm day to keep the motor friction to a minimum fro my AP1 car.

10w30. it's autocross. you aren't gonna "go faster" with lighter oil. better braking, apexing, and keeping the tail planted through slaloms would be the best way to drop times.

^^ yupp

there was a discussion on this awhile back...

There is no way to justify lower reliablility and less protection for the engine in place of running a car thats not any faster.

(i think the dragsters said they'd use a 0w oil and MAYBE get .005 better or some crap....and they have thousands of HP)

I thought I have herd some racing teams trying this when they were really just that close to winning. But maybe its not worth it.

def not....

Not for you, or me, or 99.9% of autoxers....

like that one guy said...read up on apex's, racing lines, gear selection and techniques. Thats how you get faster, not intakes, exhaust, etc..
