Default Limp Mode

It seems like this topic has been beaten to death but it just won't die. I've been to many forums and threads regarding Limp Mode and have found the solutions presented are more guesses than practical solutions.

For me, Limp Mode "activates" when the temperature drops below 70 degrees (which is weird because I'm pretty sure Japan has a lot colder climate than Florida). Usually I can let her warm up and she drives normally. Today, however, I let her warm up for 40 minutes while I got ready for work (temp dropped below 50), ten minutes into the drive she actually "warmed up", drove about 1/2 way to work fine, and then Limp Mode kicked in while driving. It seems like the problem is getting worse.

What I'm looking for is for real solutions from people who have actually had the limp mode problem and have successfully corrected it. No guesses please.

Try resetting the ecu? Just a free fix that may/may not work.

Get out the scanner and see what temp the ECU is seeing.

The connection of the ECT may be intermitting or the sensor may be bad.

Finally, after over a year of research, I was able to find a shop that could accurately pin point the problem. For my car, the ECU was completely shot and needed to be replaced. Also, it was running lean due to leaking valve cover and vtech seals. After over a year of research, two days of work, and $1700 and change later, she's alive and well once again. Hope this helps.
