Longevity of Coolant Hoses?
I am slowly converting my 2003 S2000 from "Garage Queen" to long trip use.
It currently has 37,000 miles on it. It is however, 12 years old. The hoses are flexible but not soft and seem to be in good shape.
My question is when have people seen the need to replace their hoses?
At what mileage? Or at what vehicle age?
Thanks

Hi,
They don't have a due date.
Depends mostly the conditions they live in. (use, weather, humidity)
You can follow the OEM service bulletin for reference. But still the bulletin refers on miles and not for time.
You need to inspect them, visually and touching them.
Visually, look for deformity, bumps, lumps, scars etc.
Touch it for soft spots, it should feel firm when you squeeze it. If you feel is like gum or it cracks or sound like it maybe should remove and replace.
Hope it helps
