Default Looking at a 2008 S2K and maintentance record is concerning me

Hi all, I'm a new member about to purchase my first S2K. I've found a 2008 with 38K on it but something on the CarFax is jumping out at me.
The first service was done at 5200 miles, the next was one year later at 9850 miles. During the second service the coolant was flushed/changed and the transmission fluid was changed.
Eight months later at 12200 miles the Engine/powertrain computer module was checked.
A month and a half later at 13100 miles the coolant and transmission fluid was changed again along with the rear differential fluid.

Other than a steering angle sensor being replaced, the rest of the services were routine. I'm just puzzled about the two coolant and transmission fluid changes. Should that be a concern?

Thanks

Depending on the timing the transmission fluid change could be normal. I believe it is suggested at 15kmiles/1year. The coolant should be good for 120kmiles/10years so having it changes twice is confusing, especially since coolant doesn't have anything to do with the transmission.

I'd be more concerned if the fluids were not changed at all.

Have the car checked by someone who knows S2000s?

My car has has NEVER had a shop touch it for maintenance. No records but my own.

If it scares you, walk away and find another.

I remember i would change my transmission fluid yearly or at 10,000 miles. The transmission gets knotchy fairly quick compared to other manual transmissions

Could be something as simple as an error in data/mis-match for the report.

Also could have had the incorrect fluid added and it was discovered and corrected. Happened to me with my Tacoma.

I keep precise records on all my cars; each has its own logbook. If you looked at Carfax for my S you might think it was never serviced. It has been and more.

I see no reason for concerns.

The '06 and later cars have a Maintenance Minder computer that specifies what service is needed. If it's not reset after an "early service" it will respond as if nothing happened. The oil change the interval is 7500 miles of normal driving but if you don't tell the computer you changed it 5000 it will alert again before it's due. The computer is not strictly mileage driven and hard driving will call for service sooner. If the computer was acting up it appears to have been addressed. Despite quasi-aggressive driving my Maintenance Minder is yet to illuminate. My service interval has been annual at about 5000 miles. Download a copy of the 2005 Owners Manual for the ore-Maintenance Minder maintenance schedule.

It's all in the pre-2006 owners manual but gearbox service is 120,000 miles (!) but it shifts smoother if done (much) more frequently. Differential is 30,000 (15,000 severe service) and is more critical. A handful of metric tools and jack-stands and this maintenance is dirt simple and rather satisfying to perform.

if done at the dealership, maybe they meant fluids topped off. You know how stealerships like to do that for $. lol but like someone said already, if it scares you, look elsewhere...

that's just plain stupid to change the coolant that often. I sure hope the fluid is honda spec.

Thanks for the replies. After just pulling the CarFax for my F350 tonight that I'm about to put up for sale, I'm inclined to believe it's more than likely not correct. My truck is listed by CarFax as a commercial vehicle, it's not, and shows a mileage recorded during a state inspection 50k higher than it was. On the next oil change it showed the correct mileage. Of course now they're calling it a mileage inconsistency.
