You're making that up, ballzy. The only reason it wouldn't shut off is if the clutch is stuck. Even so, I seriously doubt the compressor bearings will frag unless they are ready to any way.

It shuts off above 6k rpm when going into Vtec (if the dealer told me the truth when i bought the car).

No. Not making it up.

Why would I? On my friends lude, he went WOT, redlined his H22, when he backed off, the compressor just went nuts. screeching - bearing type noise. Hit AC button, sound went away - tells me the clutch did NOT get stuck. Hit AC button again, clutch engages, bearing noise again.

You can say what you will but I have no $$ in it...just what I do to take care of the car. I didnt say it was normal, I said it can happen - if youre willing to take the risk go for it.
