Default Loud Clunk going into 1st gear

so every since i bought the car a month and half ago. the car makes a big clunk noise when i engage first gear, and ONLY FIRST GEAR. it happens 95% of time on some random days it would be normal without the noise, but most of the time when i engage first gear, it goes CLUNK. does anyone have the same problem? can some of you experts help a puny man like me out?

Push the clutch in and hold it there for a few seconds, then shift to first. Is the "thud" less significant or not apparent?
If so, completely normal. There is a thread around here where someone defines why and what the noise is, but it's normal. My car does it too.

Sorry for the double post, can't seem to edit posts via mobile..
Anyway, like I said, wait a few seconds with clutch pedal to the floor before engaging first gear. Otherwise, change Trans/diff/clutch fluid. You might try regreasing the shifter as well.

I've retorqued my axle nuts and that didn't do anything to the thud. It did however, fix the clicking noises when moving from a dead stop.

Thanks Kenshyn for the link. I've been hearing this noise for the 2.5 years of owning my car, and was always curious to know if it was damaging anything. But from the link, it sounds like it's normal.

I believe 06+ already have the correct torque with the axel. Mine is 08 cr. But anyways I torqued it again and it's still there. I went to the link also, seems its normal. But it still kinda bothers me lol

My AP1 did the same thing and I thought it was the clutch hydros or the tranny, turns out Billman showed me I wasn't shifting right. Shifting in the S is a 2 step process. When you go to shift, you have to wait until you feel the gear grab just a bit, then slide the car into gear. Just shifting quickly from 1st to 2nd will cause a thump in the car...its how you shift. also Billman taught me its better to shift at higher RPM, like 4K over shifting at 2K.
