That thump is the sound of the countershaft (in your transmission) being quickly brought to a halt by engaging a gear before the countershaft stops spinning. Wait a second or two after pushing in the clutch pedal, but before engaging first.

There is nothing wrong. A good clutch fluid bleed may make it less apparent and/or will decrease the wait time before engaging 1st in order for the "thump" not to happen.

I need some help here iv searched high and low and can't find a direction now. My car (2001 s2000 78k miles) now sounds like someone's beating on a large drum also. Going into first while turning (doesn't seam to do it going straight) its a loud clunking coming from the rear I can feel it under my seat. Iv tried the Axel nut fix / tab. No luck there but damn were they loose. Still clunking like crazy on sharp turns mostly first sometimes second. Someone said to hold the clutch in longer tried that. Someone said when you shift into gear to give it a couple seconds before releasing the clutch tried that. Tried keeping the rpms around 3/4k but still wants to clunk clunk clunk on sharp turns at low speeds / sharper turns. Idk what to think iv flushed the differential and saw nothing alarming. Everything seams nice and tight under there iv checked 3 times now. Nothing seams alarming what could it be

Please excuse the novel SOMEONE HELP PLEASSSSSSE
