Loud Pop Sound While Closing Soft Top
Hey guys,
Just as the topic title describes, my '06 S2000 is experiencing a loud and single "pop" sound while the soft top is being closed. Does anyone know what it could be, and how to fix it?
This is one of several problems I've found with the car (ie. bent rim) since recnetly purchasing it 2nd hand from someone on this forum

The loud pop im assuming is the glass getting caught on one of the metal tabs that the toneau cover attaches to. Whatever you do, do not operate your top until you remove that tab or you risk shattering your glass and having to replace the entire soft top assembly. Unfortunately, I learned the hard way, hope this helps.
Hmm.. when I last checked, it seemed like it was bumping into the "wind breaker" glass that's between the two driver headrests. Has anyone else had this issue?
I'll check it out when I get back home on Sunday (metal tab). Thank you!

FIXED IT.
I found out that, as I closed the soft top, the top edge of the soft top glass was grabbing onto the back of where the secret storage compartment pivots to open/close... somehow, the plastic in this pivot point sticks out more on the door of the secret compartment than the plastic below it, so the window gets "caught" in it and therefore makes the loud pop sound. I fixed it by adding some felt tape right below the pivot point so that the window brushes against that vs. grabbing the plastic. The sound is COMPLETELY gone!
