Default "Low Voltage Warning"

It caught me by surprise to hear a "Low Voltage Warning" audible announcement when I turned my S on this afternoon. It has been sitting for a few months, used only sparingly, I popped the battery charger on it and it indicated that it needed charging.

Has anyone else heard the audible "Low Voltage Warning" announcement?

Um, maybe you need to see a professional about hearing voices.

Maybe its some sort of aftermarket accessory that was doing rhe talking. An alarm system maybe? I can't imagine the car said that.

The stock car does not talk. Nor warn of low voltage at all. Battery light illuminates if the battery isn't charging when the engine is running but doesn't vocalize the warning.

Where did the voice come from?
Aftermarket alarm system seems very likely, or maybe it was your phone

Yesterday was actually the second time I heard that warning. I really did think that I was hearing voices in my head. I made me stop what I was doing and look around. It was not my phone and definitely came from within the car. My girlfriend calls me crazy sometimes, yet that goes with the territory.

The battery charge did indicate a low voltage reading and I left it on overnight. It's showing a full charge now.

I do have an aftermarket alarm. Monday, I'll give the shop a call to see if this could be the source.

the alarm probably has a feature for that since low voltage at the battery can reduce the alarm function, and some people steal cars by killing the battery first.

Are you located any where near Roswell NM by chance ?

On a serious note it can't be an oem setup doing that, perhaps a higher end security system might be capable of that, so I'd say it would have to be your alarm system feature.

It may also be linked to an aftermarket head unit. You may want to check the features of your head unit to see if it is the “one” who spoke to you.
