We just installed skunk2 springs but there is a problem now. at around 40 mph when I give it gas, the car vibrates alot, it feels like its coming from the rear. Any clues what could be the problem? BTW the lug nuts are tight.

 

Did you preload the suspension before tightening everything?

 

No we didn't, you think that would cause the vibrating from the rear?

 

did you install the driveshaft spacers, if not, thats your reason for vibrations most likely, search " drive shaft spacers" and you'll see what I am talking about, you can buy two piece spacers so they'll be easy to install.

 

No i didn't. The car has over almost 100k on it, so that could be the case. Would it be OK to drive my car with its current problem for a few weeks before I put in the spacers?

 

Bad alignment? Everyone I talk to always suggest that after lowering your car you definitely should get an alignment.

 

With that milage, I am almost positive thats the problem, in my opinion its never a good idea to keep driving a car with issues, or the fix gets more expensive.

I say get an alignment done. I just dropped mine, but I don't have that problem.... I'm gettin an alignment done on Friday iA.

And what do you mean the "rear" shakes? You don't feel it in the steering wheel?

 

Go back and untighten everything then pre-load and re-tighten. Then wait a week and get an alignment.
