Default Maint Light on 2006 s2k...

I just traded in my 02 for a used 2006 s2k, which coincidentally came without the owners manual. I am still waiting to get one from the dealer I purchased it from, but the maint "wrench" light came on, and the normal reset no longer works. Can anyone please let me know the new reset commands? I am on a road trip far from most civilization, so dealers are not available. BTW I passed the % of life indicator, and now it counts a minus number for every 50 or so miles past the 5k limit....Any help or a link to a pdf of the manual would be awsome....Thanks in advance...

Going from memory after a few beers:

You have to Toggle to the Oil life screen, then push and hold the reset button untill the oil life % flashes. release and push the reset button, It should reset oil life to %100

Hmm no joy. I checked and there is no reset button. I think I had one before on my 02....There is a cancel button but it doesn nothing. I can hold in the trip button while on the service req screen, but no other combo seems to reset it. BTW it has gone beyond the % indicator, and now just displays a - number. Thanks for any help...

Cool

Cool that got it. Thanks much Slows2k. For any interested there were a couple of gotcha's. First you need to get onto the screen that has the service or oil info. You then need to hold the trip button down for 15 secs or so, until the ENTIRE display is flashing. The number will flash normally, if you pass the warnings, which can throw you off. I am not positive on this, since it didnt seem to work until I got the whole display flashing, but after so many attempts, not positive. And since you only get the one change if it works, I know it worked with the whole display flashing. Onward...Once the whole display is flashing, you hold down both the trip and the select and trip buttons at the same time (both on right) for around 15 seconds. During your hold down your display will change to kph and the number will change. Dont let up its not reset yet (got me the first time). Keep the buttons down until the display changes to Oil 100%. Thanks again.
