I am a recent new owner of a used s2000. I have about 25k mi on my car and had my maint required light fkash on me. I am sure this is a dumb questions you guys get all the time but I am concerned about my baby. bytheway it started flashing while I was on some winding roads. I think I am going to just take it to my dealer. any feed back on this is appreciated.

it goes by the miles put on the car since the last time someone reset it...its just a nice reminder that you need your oil change etc...if you go by a different schedule don't bother with it...your car isnt going to mess up or anything...i had the same question also...to reset it just put the key in the ignition and hold the trip reset button for 5 seconds??...and then turn on the car while holding it..it should reset....

someone correct me if i'm wrong about the reset..but i'm pretty sure thats right

Yep. just depress the TRIP button on your dash while you insert and turn on your ignition key, keep holding down the TRIP button until the dash light quits blinking. From there as a test, remove the ignition key and re-insert the key and turn on. If the alarm lights up, you haven't done it correctly.

it's all in your owner's manual if you read it.

The manual seems to be wrong on this one (MY '00)...It doesn't tell you to hold down the button while turning on until light goes out
