Default maint req'd light?

I've read a couple threads about this "occuring" and being reset..
Also it being a reminder to change oil n what not..

I did a round trip to niles tonight on I-90 from rockford, except this time I took my intake box cover off... Sounded great and alse made that whistle sound loud as hell .

But anyway, my last toll before entering rockford.. I payed, then normal take off, then gave it some gas.. Then I noticed a light flashing under the spedomiter, maint req'd??
I JUST changed my oil.. as far as what not, im sure I gotta get it in..
But as worrying as I can get, any sugestions to why it would be doing this?
or what reasons.. as dumb as it sounds, a reminder for fluid change isnt satisfying me enough.. it cant be the oil unless I haveto top it off already..

Hope i didnt mess anything up because I drove so long with the intake box off.

BTW... saw a black (Dont really know if AP1 or AP2) about 11:30pm between dempster and golf on some street I cant remember.. It was close to super H mart.. Honked and waved

Maintenance required light doesn't know whether or not you've changed your oil. It goes by how many miles you've put on your S. Just reset it you are fine.

Just look in your owners manual or do a search. It could be all the bumpy roads in Rockford. I grew up there and joined the Air Force but that was 30 years ago. I know Alpine road is bad.

Whens the last time you reset you maint light?
Did you do the oil change yourself?
It was most likely just not rest when you got your oil changed

Yes I change my own oil... Just the thought of OTHER people working on it makes me nervous... Its gotta be done by me.. So I know what comes out and what exactly goes in.

As for the maintenance light.. No luck finding out how to reset, and havnt ever really done it.

the maintenence light is so easy to reset. Don't you just hold in the trip button on the cluster, turn on the ignition, and wait for the light to go out?

The only thing that turns that light on is a mileage counter from the last time it was reset. Nothing you do to the car, except drive past that mileage, turns the light on.

It's a stupid feature I think the bulb should be pulled
