hey guys,

im approaching 38~39k on my 2002 s2k. and i noticed today that the maint req'd light would flash about 10 times then goes out after i start up my car. like i said i searched the forum already and people say this is nothing to worry about.

can someone let me know what does it actually mean?

It's a mileage based counter to remind you to do maintenance.

 

Read the FAQ/DIY for a "How To" reset it.

 

turn ign off hold trip button and mph/kilo buttons at the same time and turn the key on and keep holding for about 20 secs until it goes off. i think thats rigth. the light comes on every 7500 miles for mile maint services

 

A flashing maint req'd light means you have a scheduled interval approaching. Once it goes constant on you have reached that interval.

Reset it as the above has posted, which you also would have found in your owners manual
