Default maintenance req'd light flashing

So i have had the s for about a month now, and the only mods i have doen are k&n drop in filter and an invidia tp with cel fix. the test pipe has been in for about 2 weeks now and still tripped the cel about every 50 miles so i did the non fouler mod and cleared the ecu and havent had a cel since. today i went to start the car and im getting the maintenance req'd light flashing for about 30 seconds along with the eps light lit up untill i start the car and then after a few seconds both go off. any ideas on what the problem may be and is this something i should worry about

my first guess of course will be the obvious of not having a catalytic converter. gotta get the code pulled though.

also, not having the s2k for too long, i'd check the oil level 'cause the s2k with a lot of vtec uses oil, so i'd keep an eye on that during your early initial months of ownership, especially with having an ap1.

well i just wanted to check because i read on here about if you see the maintenance light flashing to have the car picked up on a flat bed and takin in. The car ran fine, sounded normal, vtecd normal and all that. Just wasnt sure if this was normal to see that light flash when the key is in the on position but goes out a few seconds after the car is started. I checked the oil in looks normal so i guess this is nothing to worry about. thanks for the fast responses< i was kinda worried something was wrong with my car already

CEL flashing is what you need to worry about not you maintenance light. You can easily find the answer to your question without opening a new thread!!

This is pretty standard on all cars man.

Flashing CEL = Catalytic converter / get off the freaking gas before you blow up the engine and get it fixed

Flashing Maintenance = Needs maintenance soon (IE, oil change, regular maintenance)

Static Maintenance = Time for regular maintenance.

Good rules of thumb for ALL newer cars, and exactly the same on all 5 Honda that I've owned.
