I'm not sure if the faq explains how but it is very easy to get rid of.
Mine went from blinking for a month to solid one day.

1) All you have to do is turn the key to the on position (do not start the car)
2) Hold the trip button on your speedo until it disappears

The manual says that the light will begin flashing 6000 miles after the last reset and then stay on when you reach 7500 miles from the last reset.

This is a reminder to change your oil at the non severe interval of 7500 miles that is specified in the manual.

This is pretty standard on all cars man.

Flashing CEL = Catalytic converter / get off the freaking gas before you blow up the engine and get it fixed

Flashing Maintenance = Needs maintenance soon (IE, oil change, regular maintenance)

Static Maintenance = Time for regular maintenance.

Good rules of thumb for ALL newer cars, and exactly the same on all 5 Honda that I've owned.
It appears that you know just about as much as the OP. Lets take a look at what you did here:

1. Realized that you were ignorant on this particular subject.
2. Tried to act like you were informed by telling the OP "This is pretty standard on all cars man."
3. Compiled a list of what everyone else said.
4. Managed to fawk up said list, "Flashing CEL = Catalytic converter"

A flashing CEL has nothing to do with the catalytic converter. Do us a favor and only post on topics that you actually know about.

Maybe you should do research before YOU post.

Here's one example:

and another:

Do you really need me to go on?

Flashing ALWAYS means that the engine is running to lean or misfiring and is in danger of causing your catalytic converter to basically burn itself up and if it goes further, you'll burn up pistons. Maybe you should get off your high-horse. I don't care how long you've been on this particular forum...but hell, you seem decent at internet fighting.

Why don't you try to insult me more!

Your pathetic attempt at a generalization makes it seem like a flashing CEL was indicative of a problem with the cat (when a vast majority of us are running without them). Be more clear with your responses and maybe you wont be called out on them. It's not a mystery that a flashing CEL indicates misfiring, etc... it may be recognized by the O2 sensor IN THE CAT, but has nothing to do with the actually function of the cat.... pay attention though. The OP is running a test pipe smart ass.
My apologies in not being so clear...I'll try to in the future. You shouldn't be so quick to judge people on a forum, especially when you have no idea the extent of their knowledge. That being said, trying to be a hardass on the internet in no way contributes positively to an otherwise informative forum. I hope it makes you feel better about yourself. And, with that, I'm done in this thread.

I probably wouldn't have called you out on it had you not made it seem like such general knowledge, and then made a generalization that would surely confuse the uneducated ("CEL=problem with the cat." I know now that isn't what you meant, but the OP could have easily taken it that way). Everyone had to learn it at some point, and apparently that time is now for the OP. So in the future when you want to offer knowledge to someone who doesn't have a clue, please be more careful.

I'm sorry for calling you out on it. I'll be more considerate in the future. It just pisses me off when people think they are helping by offering up faulty logic.
