So im curious... does anyone have an experience with the Mech o2 simulator with the Bosch Universal o2 sensor? I tried to manufacture the mech sim, drilled it out with half inch... NEARLY perfectly straight and it still was having clearance problems... like it needed to be 5/8" drill bit or more. I had to put my stock cat back on (which is bad) and I think it has already destroyed my sensor. I really would like to just buy the OEM sensor but cant justify spending $200 on the secondary when the universal is 1/4th the cost.
No personal experience with the Bosch Universal Sensor...my only suggestion to that would be to see if there is another Bosch that you could use that has a smaller sensor part that would fit. Or you could search and try to find if there is a spark-plug anti fouler with a bigger opening. Lastly you could try drilling it out more, but it may be too large and ruin the thread on the anti fouler. Try any of those...let us know how it works.

I purchased the Berk unit and have a CT SC and my Check Engine light did come on after 100 miles or so. Not sure why, but any suggestions would be helpful.

THanks
Something else I have no personal experience with. First thing I'd question is if the Berk unit is doing a good job with the built in simulator. Next is your tune...perhaps its so rich that it just confuses the O2 sensor.

Try doing the mechanical mod...buy the anti-foulers and drill the one out. Instead of using both, just use one...see if that works for you.

I'm not familiar with this unit. Is it electronic intervention? If so, then I would say that it's either not wired up correctly or it is the wrong product for this particular application.

As a side note, I have removed my test pipe since the last time I posted here. I found that under F.I., the car simply stunk way too badly. It was just embarrassing. Also, it made my car far noisier than I wanted it to be. I put the cat back on.
here is a picture of the Berk unit:

its pretty much the same as what everyone is doing here except they come with the fouler already built in, so not sure why my check eninge light came on. I resetted it and have driven the car for about 50 miles w/o any cels yet

I don't notice in change in smell, but don't put my nose anywhere near the exhaust, so not sure about that one. It is extremely louder with my TS exhaust, but I can live with it for now

my guess is it could be in the design, Even with the simulator built in it looks like the exhaust flow is angled towards the O2 sensor, rather than angling it away from the sensor. That is, if I remember correctly...I am thinking that it is a 2 bolt flange on the header side, and a 3 bolt on the cat-back side. If thats the case, umm. Well, you could try doing this little mod...its cheap and painless. It may work, it may not. Could be a design flaw...but if it works for everybody else...maybe not.

I agree with "Silver" on the design. Not sure how you're going to get around this one. It may be something to do with the extra exhaust flow of F.I. I never had a CEL with the double non-fouler at right angles.
Also, the sulfer stink only occured under heavy throttle near redline when maximal exhaust volume was evident and only those following me could tell.
