Metal Chunk in Diff

I would flush out the rear very well to be sure everything is out that maybe loose. I would think you are ok for now if nothing seems to be out of sorts.

The ears keep the friction discs locked in place and, from moving around in the LSD. If the discs can start to free spin they can cause a heat issue in the rear.
I am able to replace the damaged discs if you feel that it becomes an issue.

where are you located and how could i get a rearend to you to build for me. I know your pretty far away. ive always heard your the best person for this kinda stuff but i never thought id be able to get work done being that your so far away

I found another one last night, changing the fluid again.

I have the Honda Care, so I am going to take the fragment and this thread in to the dealership to see what I can have done.

I had the same thing come out of my Evo IX rear diff. Drove it for another 15k and did prolly another 50 launches w/o any failure.

tranny fluid / motor fluid / diff fluid all can show signs of metal flaking
