Metallic Ringing... Different Symptoms Than Clutch Problem
I ran several searches on the board to try and diagnose my "ringing, rattling, or metallic vibration" (whatever you want to call it)
I have checked every possible bolt under my car... checked all heat shields, etc...
I performed absolutely no mechanical modifications leading up to noise...
I have 8500 miles, MT '00:
At 3000 - 3700 during light acceleration, constant revs, or light deceleration I get a "metallic ringing" like a heat shield "buzzing"...
Any ideas? a bit different than the clutch TB

I just started getting this sound a few minutes after a brisk run through the open part of Glendora Mountain... there were some harsh bumps, and my car is lowered conservatively at less than 1 inch.
I only get it when revving past 7k, how could it be just a missing center bold on the heat shield?

I was under the impression that the full power ringing is just the "VTEC ring." Harmonics in the engine give off a ringing in the upper rpm ranges. I think it is the HONDA way to say adios or AMF.
I have a metallic ring coming from my car as well...can't figure out where it's coming from. I know the sound starts at or about 5000 RPM...this was after I put my Vortech Supercharger on. I think it's just something lose...since my motor hasn't blowen up yet.
