Minimum Requirements for Stock ECU to function
I am in the middle of stripping down and rebuilding the majority of my AP1 and have a question regarding how many auxiliary systems I can remove (secondary air system, a/c, etc.) before causing the stock ecu to not properly function. I could care less about CEL's as I'm looking to redo the motor with stand-alone ecu eventually but in the meantime I want to be able to run the stock engine and ecu combo. Is throwing CEL's the extent of removing these systems or will this actually cause the ecu to not properly function?
Thanks for the input!

I stripped back a wiring loom for my race car.
The ECU needs the key reader, wheel speed sensor, primary O2 sensor, power supply and PCM relays to function.
My race car is missing the air pump and associated relays.
I retained the main fuse box so also have the current load detection circuit.
