Default Misfire

Haven't used my S2 for about 3 weeks....so started the car, let it warm up on the drive...no noises at all. Then about 10 minutes later (2 miles down the road) whilst chilling out in 6th gear doing 50 MPH the car started to judder and shake badly..and I had a flashing CEL. I immediately pulled over and switched off. I re started thinking bad fuel...but it wouldn't go away. The Rescue guy plugged his computer in and said mis fire on cylinder No. 4 - so thoughts are it is a coil.

DO people think it is a coil - any idea how much these are to replace and should I replace them all or just the broken one? I'm guessing Honda are going to want a fortune for them!

Many Thanks

Flashing CEL is bad. Take the car to a dealer and have them diagnose the exact problem. I would not drive the car anymore. I am guessing bad plug or coil.

On a side note, I normally have my car in 4th when I'm cruzing 50mph, not 6th.

Good luck.

misfire could be coil, injector, valves, wiring for the injector problem, etc or even just a simple foul plug.. i had a misfire at cylinder 4 also 2 months ago.. i hav a feeling its just a plug coz the car runs as good as normal(no s/s) just dat CEL...so i chnge it then reset...after 2 mos and about 3000 miles...still no cel...

but if its blinking..thats bad..dont drive the car...tow it to a dealer or take it ur trusted mechanic assuming he has the proper tools to do the job...

if the CEL is present but not flashing...then maybe you can drive it safely...

coil is about 80 bucks plus tax a piece.

Get sparks plugs and see if there are anymore problems. Misfires are usually from one or more non operational spark plugs not making any or enough sparks.
