Got the code for cylinder 3 and 4 and check engine light. I replaced all the spark plugs and coil packs. The spark plugs in the machine were generic spark plugs. I replaced the generic spark plugs with the NGK's for the S2000. Same with the coil packs. That didnt fix the issue. I was still getting the cylinder check engine lights and random misfire light.

I did a compression test and the results were 150 for each cylinder. This was a loaner compression test so I think it was just reading low because the numbers where consistent. I removed the fuel rail and fuel injectors. I noticed there was a weird white residue coming from the fuel injector holes for cylinder 2 and 3. It kind of looked like dried elmers glue or something. Also the injectors them selves were super nasty and dirty. The ports they go into where super nasty as well.

This car is a 2005 S2000 with 39000 miles. I think it was maintained okay but I noticed all the wear parts were replaced with cheap generic parts. The spark plugs were generic crap as well as the oil filter. It was driven by an elderly lady so I am thinking she just took it to a shop that doesnt really handle s2000's and they just put whatever would fit in it that was the cheapest to install.

The plan for now is to clean out the fuel injector holes to the best of my ability and then to install the new injectors. I do know it had bad gas in it when i bought it because it had been driven regularly probably for a year or two. After I replace the injectors and clean everything up I am going to do the valve adjustment. I am thinking that is going to probably fix everything. I may just completely drain the gas tank too. I have been learning quite a bit though trying to figure this all out.
