dont do it, unless the shop can do perfect welds. otherwise, it will be raspy, especially when cold. i had this on my old 03....but only for a couple days!!

Here is the video of the stock exhaust with no resonator. also in video is stock exhaust with no resonator and berk's test pipe. However the test pipe sounds raspy because of my flywheel.

Yes tranny was cold and i missed second the first time. The plan was to extend the pipes out of the rear bumper, but I never got around to it.

ultimetely I just ending up kepping the test pipe and having a custom exhaust built...

Yes, bad welds would make it sound terrible. However, any reputabile shop should be able to add a piece of pipe and weld it in without any adverse effects. It is really no different than adding / subtracting any other component in your exhaust system, test pipe, new muffler etc...

this was a while back for me, but just adding my experience for those considering the resonator delete...

i took it to a local muffler shop that has had a good rep for good work for 10+ years, job took 30 minutes. at first i liked the sound, but after a few weeks the raspy sound really bothered me...it was deeper but sounded cheap.

so i went with the mugen sports exhaust. i love it. IMO don't remove the resonator on the stock system. it just isn't worth it.

Do a search. There are literally hundreds of threads on this subject. The majority of those who have done it, like it. I did mine and it doesn't sound raspy at all. Just a little deeper tone, but no HP gain.

I'd say leave the resonator and change the mufflers (something more free-flowing).
