Default Modifications and Oil

I have two questions. I am considering modifying my S2000, and I want to know who makes THE BEST performance parts for the car. Which of the following brands is best, cost being no object: Comptech, Mugen, or Spoon? My other question regards my car's oil. I had the oil changed at just under 2000 miles, thinking that it's never too soon to change the oil and having read several sources that indicated that Honda's insistance that owners not change their oil until the designated mileage was preposterous. Have I made a grave mistake?

Mods in my opinion if your going NA only. Mugen all the way.

As for your oil change at 2K well YEA IT WAS EARLY! Was it a grave mistake? Probably not...........though you should have waited another 2K and just kept adding oil. There is a special oil in the car that helps everything seat correctly.

Yours will probably just take a little longer to do so. My suggestion is to not beat the hell out of the car and take it easy till you pass 6K.(no lead foot) Then let her rip!!!! Though thats playing it safe.

Me.........I never did any of this except leave the oil in. I didn't know better. I have 56K on the dial and no problems really to speak of as far as engine breakin. If I ever do it again.........I will be taking some long non-highway trips to break in that engine real quick. That first 600 miles better go by in the first 2-3 days I have the car or I will go bonkers!!!!!!!!

Oil issue! My dealer said 3500 is a good time to change. You can go to 7500 before first change. He said the benefit of the breakin oil is just about done at 3500 miles. But there has to be something the engineers have figured out with extended oil changes bmw it is 15,ooo miles. I am a believer in once a month about 2000 miles every change. I have 36oo miles on my "s" an i am changing it this week for the first time. Wish i knew more...might be time to right a letter to pop scince or pop mechanics.
