Default Modifry "Yellow Jacket" speedo calibrator...

Hey gang,

Tonight I had my 4.77 diff installed, along with the Modifry "Yellow Jacket" speedo corrector. I had a friend of mine do the install, I trust him as he is very mechanically inclined. Once the Yellow Jacket was all wired up the instructions stated that the light on the device should come on, and stay on for only 5 seconds then start to flash, this tells you that it has been wired up correctly. We turned the key and the Yellow Jacket's light stayed on, and wouldn't turn off, or flash like it said in the instruction booklet.

The booklet provided stated that if the light didn't come on to check wiring, or if the light is flashing to check your ground, and ensure it is wired correctly. Unfortunately there was no troubleshoot for the "if the light stays on" problem.

Im hoping some here may be able to help me out. Might I have a defective Yellow Jacket?

Thanks in advance.

Double (tripple ) check the connections.
If it stays like that I would e-mail Modifry with your question.

We did triple check our our connections, and everything seems fine. I got a hold of Bob's email at Modifry, sent him my question, hopefully he can help.

After quadruple checking the wiring just now, it turns out 2 of the wires were crossed up, and now we think we may have fried the Yellow Jacket Since the light is only staying solid, and not flashing like it's supposed to, we think she's toast and I'll have to get a new one.

Yeah he specifically tells you not too hook it up to the 12V but the 5V I think it is? I used the screw block terminal - much easier.

If you only crossed them (the + 5V and ground) you MIGHT be ok as long as you DID NOT use the +12 Volt.
You could always try it the right way and see if it works.
If it doesn't no loss.

Succes!

We did use the block terminal that was provided, not sure what might have happened? All I know is after numerous check's, and even after finding the crossed wires, it still lit up but wouldn't blink.

I think what happened is the one's he did mix up were the ones that would cause the yellow jacket to be toasted. My mechanic feels he fried it so I've gone ahead and ordered an extra one, here's hoping it works this time around.

On a brighter note, the 4.77 gears are a blast! I can't believe I went this long without them, really brings the S to life

Thanks for all your guys
