More interior light woes
Recently I noticed that the interior (windshield) lights nolonger came on when either door is opened with the main switch set to any position. The lights will come on if I hit the individual light switches but only if the main switch is set in the center position. They will not come on at all if it is set to 'ON' or 'OFF'. I believe the driver's door-jam switch is working correctly because I get the annoying beep if the key is in the ignition when the door is open.
Anyone had any problems with the master switch mounted on the light assy? Is there something obvious I'm overlooking? Can I have a ham sandwich please?

Thanks for the advice.
I checked the ground and it is making good contact. Both door jam switches are verified as working (via the 'door open' light on the dash when the ignition is on.
Anyone ever had the switch itself go bad?
I'm guessing that I have to remove the interior windshield trim panel to remove the switch and light assembly...
Anyone???
Bueller???

I had exactly the same problem with my light. Ended buying a new unit, and voila, everything back to normal.
Also, you do not need to remove the windshield trim to do this: Just remove the lens, and with a flat screwdriver, carefully pry it out; but don't forget to remove the two screws at the bottom of the unit.
Hope it helped.

You ROCK froggie!
I took the assembly out and took apart the sitch. It was all corroded so I cleaned it up and everything works fine now!
Thanks for the heads-up!
