Default Problem with interior light

I'm sure this has happened recently, i have the interior light switch set to the middle IIRC.

When i open the door isnt the interior light supposed to come on? - well it doesnt

There must be a spring switch in the door mechanism?

cheers

Also check the door contact points. These get sticky and/or have slight surface corrosion which is enough to prevent electrical contact and no light. Only cure here is to take the contact point apart and clean off the corrosion.
You might also push the contact point in and out a few times to see if the light comes on, that would be a hint that corrosion is present.

I was really look forward to replying " have you seen the switch in the middle of your light "

a case of passenger window switch sindrome, but no luck. So i guess ill be serious..

Doe the light come on when you open any door, does it come on when you unlock the car ?

Can we establish the light works at all ? Is there anythign you can do to get it on ? If not change the blub, check the fuse

If it come on when you unlock it, you knwo the light works and can get power, so probbaly a issue with the contact points on the door.

I had this a week ago until I realised I'd knocked the switch into the off position

Right so i had a quick look last night, defo not the fuse.

I must be some sort of catch related does anyone know where the light sensor is located on the door? - as it briefly came on last night, something must be gunked up or stuck.

Where are these contact points located?

im having this issue as well, but mine seems to be with the connection, ....because if i press on the switch(apply pressure) it comes on, i let off and it goes off. however it stays on if i slide it to the "on" position. just doesnt come on when it should such as the door being opened. Would i need to pull off the cover and clean the contact point on the bulb or is it something else???

Contact switch is on the door frame, at the back, there is a rubber circular bit. Switch is in there

..... and they are crap. I've replaced both of mine already. The switches are not expensive either, not worth cleaning them up.
