Default MSD Ignition

Hey guys-

I am just curious about a MSD Ignition system. Would it provide any benefit for a hig-compression car like ours? I have heard that they are good for nitrous setups, but will one provide any kind of benefit for an otherwise stock engine (CAI is all I have for now....). I was thinking of something like a 50 wetshot in the near future....any problems / benefits if this is installed?

Thanks

John

I think the system on the s2k is gonna be tough to beat.

I would not even think twice about upgrading unless you're going mega boost....even then, not sure if it's needed..

Unless you are running over 15psi of boost, it's not needed.

Some turbo car's haven't had a problem with stock coils, but the high boost ones I've seen had random misfire issues above 15psi.

The stock system is very effective and tough to improve on.

The MSD ignition system CANNOT be used with the stock coils. The coils must be replaced.

You will fry the stock coils instantly if you hook em' up to the MSD box.

Very true. Several people have cooked stock coils by attempting to use them with a CDI.
