There again though, you may run into the same issues that afflict running piggybacks like the AFC and VAFC.........the stock ecu fights/overrides those 'tunes'.

I highly doubt anyone's used a DIS4 on the S for this purpose, so you may have to be the guinea pig.

If you do it, I'd like to hear the results as it'd be intersting info to add to the library.

well remember it doesn't change the tune at all, it doens't mess with fuel... It intercepts the spark control and delays it or advances by just a little bit (when needed)

oh and feature im looking for as well, u can set a lower rev limit..
im running an ap2 motor on my ap1 ecu..
Im careful and making sure not to go past about 8600, but i would like an extra safty feature. This will allow me to lower my redline without me buying an ap2 ecu and haveing my keys reprogrammed..

It has other useful things as well, like 2-step.

MSD is a very serious company. They have been the standard CDI ignition in drag racing since at least the 1980s. But MOST drag race cars still use a carbeureted V8 or mechanical fuel injection, not electronic fuel injection. IMO MSD's strength is still in the hard-core drag race market for domestic iron. They do make killer ignition controllers and components for that market.

IMO their products for late model electronic fuel injected import cars are not the standard. I have one of the new Hemi Chargers, and the MSD coil packs for it are a waste of money. See LX forums for reviews.

Ehhh. MSD does a ton of marketing (look at NASCAR) and their products work so well that they have to use two with a cutoff switch to swap....

I looked at the wiring diagrams, and used the Accel on a v-8 a while ago. I think you are confused about the setup. The D 4 has 4 inputs and outputs. There is one hot from the factory ecu which goes into the unit, and one output which goes to each coil. That's all.

Yea there is only one hot, and the factory ecu controls the fire by controling the ground which switches a relay..
thats exacly what this msd does, intercepts the ground..
In the picture you see 4 signal wires, which are - signal. And yes two + wires. But you just combine those two to our one.. CAuse all thats doing is supplying voltage.. the - triggers are the ones that actualy fire the coils.
