Default My 00' S2000 Compression test at 286k KM

Hello, about 6 months ago i traded my old mini for a 00' Silverstone S2000 with 278k Kilometers on the clock. I know they are many but the car was in excelent condition, not any scratches both in the body and the interior. The car was bone stock i have added a custom 63.5 catback exhaust and Koni dampers with Eibach lowered springs. I didn't run a compression test when I bought it, so now was the time. The car now has 286.000 kilometers with the stock block, and the previous owner says it still has the stock pistons and rings. I tested it with the engine in opperating temperature, all spark plugs removed, fuel pump fuse off and wide open throttle, cranked 5-6 times.

Results:

1st test: 225 225 235 235 PSI
2nd test: 245 235 235 235 PSI

Average: 235 230 235 235 PSI

Not only it has 235 PSI compression (I've been told 240 is the compression a brand new engine has) but also the compression cocistency between the 4 cylinders. How is that even possible in a 278k km and 14 years old engine? I was amazed!

Those are amazing numbers! And at that mileage! The previous owner definitely took care of her

I pulled 235 across the board when I had mine done a few months back with 110000 miles on the engine. Take care of it and it will take care of you!

I'm hesitant to say that all compression readers are accurate. So it's hard to compare numbers with someone else using a different reader.

At the end of the day, those #'s look healthy. Keep it that way!

These numbers are great. There is no reason to beleive that a high mileage car should have compression issues just because of the miles they last forever when taken care of!!
