Even when we do run them above the deck, they don't sink if machined correctly.
As far as the distance between the bores, we run even bigger bores than this on the street. I have customers driving around for over 5 years without having any headgasket problems.
We have done many motors similar to this setup, and we wouldn't do something that wouldn't work. All we do is build honda motors and thats what Jeremy does 10 hours a day, 6 days a week for over 5 years.
Again, just stick around and find out, and see the motor run.

I'd love to see what your base map for your EMS is going to be like. The reason I ask is it always good to have a comparison with a similar setup to see if things could be done better. Also the head looks great!
BTW: You know you'll have to have a custom setup to get the in-dash temp gage to work? I beleive most folks use "modfy's" to correct this, but I am wondering if you are going to go the same route?

I really wish hondata would come out with something for the s2k
well, i can input quite a bit here. i dont care rather you think im on anybodies side, i come from my side. and im telling you how i feel from years of doing this, and not only on s2000's.
many folks here are quick to bash, and do so with little or no experience, and for those who have taken a loss on a 2.5, id have to say its because of your tuner, not always because of the builder.
what ive seen with my own two eyes, is a well built motor. piston squirters are only necessary if your gonna run the car very lean, or for very long periods, at high rpm, again, usually very lean. if the correct piston is used, and the tune is good, the car will never have an issue without piston cooling nozzles.
as kevin (LShatch) had stated, his car runs quite well. he picked up the inlinepro 2.5 from a guy (shortblock only) and i assembled every other aspect of it. with baker cylinder heads doing all the work for his stage2 head. the tune was done by mike angel of factorX, if that name doesnt ring a bell, he builds the highest HP NSX's on the planet. his recent shop car put down over 800 whp, stock block. he is no newb when it comes to tuning.
here are a few shots of kevins mill going together. if you have any questions, or would like input on the quality of IP's stuff, ask away. i dont know a single person from IP, but this is the second of their products ive played with, as i also worked with one of their turbo kits on steveL's car, and with mikey tuning, on 7 psi, super conservative, he put down 330 wheel, and 215 lb ft of torque. never had a single issue, again, install and tune are everything when it comes to this magnitude of performance.







you can ask kevin what numbers hes put down so far, on conservative tune, and with stock TB and crappy DC header.

This is a very informative thread with nice documentation and pictures. We get to see the whole build, tune and results. And at the end of the day if the engine produces the power and reliability we have a full example. And if it dies we have a confirmation of many's fears.

Looks like he is just helping our cause by confriming the quality of the products.
